Chug it straight from the bottle and then smooch the one you love. Been drinking Mexican brandy lately. Presidente. Pretty good hooch.

The key is to use fresh mint. Easy stuff to grow and then you get a sprig and crush it with a spoon against the glass. This is the real key to making a good julip. The rest is the bourbon of your choice and sugar. I think at the Kentucky Derby they use Early Times bourbon.

Had a bottle of this. It was the most fabulous port I've ever tasted.

Whiskers Blake is an outstanding young tawny. But it's from Australia, so not a true port. But the Aussie's do well with port.

The coolest thing I ever saw was seeing a pair of port tongs heated up in the fire place and then placed on the neck of bottle of port. You slowly rotate the bottle in the hot tongs for a few seconds and then you touch an ice cube to the glass and it breaks clean where the tongs were. The coolest bottle opening trick ever.

There weren't any bits of glass or shards anywhere?

Yeah that was my concern is having some glass shards but it must break completely clean because people have been using port tongs for a long time.

I could never understand why people would use a sword to open a champagne bottle. Glass bits must go everywhere.
